Catholic Church Rejects Surrender Terms from Obama

Cliff Kincaid (Accuracy in Media, January 30, 2012):
The issue is what the Catholic Bishops have called a “literally unconscionable” edict by the Obama Administration demanding that sterilization, abortifacients and contraception be included in virtually all health plans.
[Hat tip to Roger Lessa]

Related: As Mike Liccione (or was it Marcel LeJeune?) says: "It took Obama's Administration to get 100% of the US Bishops to agree. Even the Pope can't do that."

yscI am opposed to Obamacare. I think this regulation is wrong. I hope Obama is not reelected.

But are the bishops making too big a deal out of this? The option remains for all employers of dropping insurance, increasing salaries, paying the fine and allowing employees to buy gov't subsidized insurance on the exchanges. There has been talk that the majority of employers will do just that for economic reasons.

It seems to me that conscience provisions - or the absence thereof - for medical providers are a much bigger concern.

If this were Obama's only assault, then possibly. As it is, that the sleeping giant is awake, I'm not too worried about the fact that it was a someone stepping on a creaky floorboard rather than the plumes of smoke that have been engulfing the room for years.
