Publius, "Lech Walesa Endorses Republican for Illinois Governor" (Big Government), in an open letter from Walesa to the People of Illinois dated January 20, 2010. Publius says: "Mr. Walesa will be in Chicago this week to campaign for Mr. Andrzejewski. The primary election is Tuesday, February 2nd."

Such an endorsement could actually make a difference in a metropolis populated by large numbers of Poles and descendants of Polish immigrants.
