Why it is a mistake to think small-case Church "traditions" don't matter

It is a mistake to think that Catholic Faith and Morals are defined only by dogmatic propositions or the nose-bleed-level issues among the hierarchy of truths. Catholic Faith and Morals are defined by innumerable habits of the heart, even unnamed and unconscious customs, which shape the human culture and cult of Catholics.
As the saying goes, the Devil is in the details. Chisel away at the details, and soon you will have left nothing more than an empty proposition with no flesh and blood. The Church will be dead in another generation at this rate, unless the God of Heaven intervenes, as He must and will, in order to keep his promises. Only, it won't be pretty.
