Looking up Colbert's bio on Wikipedia I see that he is a practicing Catholic and Sunday school teacher.
Intentionally or not, he has brilliantly pointed out the fallacy of relativism and the strength of a faith rooted in reason and tradition, well thought out and focused on the truth.
