Rebecca English, "'Follow the Islamic way to save the world,' Prince Charles urges environmentalists" (Mail Online, June 10, 2010): "Prince Charles yesterday urged the world to follow Islamic 'spiritual principles' in order to protect the environment.... Charles, who is a practising Christian and will become the head of the Church of England when he succeeds to the throne, spoke in depth about his own study of the Koran which, he said, tells its followers that there is 'no separation between man and nature' and says we must always live within our environment's limits.
The prince was speaking to an audience of scholars at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies - which attempts to encourage a better understanding of the culture and civilisation of the religion."

Stupid, yes, but not at all surprising, considering the source. Charles does like to play dress-up as a Muslim from time to time. Who knows, he might even be one.
Has everyone totally lost their mind?
Don't rely on tabloids for your judgment here -- I can well imagine John Paul II or even Benedict XVI making the same speech.
I'm not mad---yet. Care for a corn chip? I've got a whole bag and all, kicking back and muching away, waiting for the implosion of our times. My camera's ready and my notepad awaits the coming fury of scribble.
[crunch, crunch , crunch]
I sure hope as many remaining sane people as possible are taking furious notes on the world's being torn asunder. If one of you folks out in the ether is just that type, be sure to make copies--on paper please. It'd be a shame to lose any brilliance on a toasted hard drive.
Lutheran,
I don't have any notes to share, or even chips, but I do have some good dip for your chips back in the fridge, and an ice cold Founders Porter, one of our finder Michigan micro-brews, if you please.
