Many thanks to all of you who have written emails or called to express your concern and ask about our daughter Hannah. We spent the night of January 8th in the hospital with our daughter Hannah, who received an IV infusion lasting well into the next day, along with blood work. Thankfully, she responded well, by which I mean she eventually began to cry (a good sign) from the discomfort of the IV and tests, attesting to progress in the goal rehydration. By mid-morning, she was showing signs of her old, more cheerful self again, asking for Indian curry (a request we couldn't yet fulfill) and showing a ravenous appetite for chicken. By noon, she was released from the hospital and on her way home.
Unfortunately, my wife made the mistake of feeding Hannah a bit of the Chinese food I brought for her, and didn't think to change forks when feeding herself, and ended up coming down with the same virus -- with all the symptoms. Hence, I spent yesterday afternoon with Hannah in my office so that my dear wife, Amy, could sleep (she slept for four hours), and Amy went to bed at 9:00pm and slept until 8:00am this morning. She is much better, and able to keep food and liquids down, and today came by school for a walk around campus with Hannah and me. Needless to say, we are grateful to God for the gift of restored health. Thanks, again, for your prayers.
