Obama's war on women

It's no secret that Obama is courting the "women's vote," just as he is courting the "African-American vote." What is a secret is that his policies have done more harm than good to those he cynically courts in order to get himself re-elected.

It's the Democrats that have the "women problem" in this election.

Here is the latest: Mark A. Thiessen, "Obama's women problem" (Washington Post, April 12, 2012).

I don't necessarily agree with the whole "war on women" motif, but which group do you think the Republicans are trying to woo?

I don't think the Republicans have decided on their own identity yet, so who knows?

Ann Coulter dislikes Santorum, declaring him too Catholic to be an authentic Republican, and thinks Romney is the best thing since milk toast. Whereas I think Romney, for all of his virtues, probably IS milk toast.

Romney is another Bush.

No "vision thing," no inner core, no real answer to the question "why you?". Just a burning desire to run the biggest damn corporation on the planet.

Sinclair Lewis wrote the script for this election: its the shabby and cynical boosterism of George Babbitt vs the secular evangelism of Elmer Gantry.
