"The Chickens Return to Rome"
I expect little to get excited about from the results of this Synod. Rome will not change her established doctrines. But this does little to gainsay the reality of the ever present temptation, evident among some Roman prelates, to embrace the vision of Protestant Liberalism articulated by H. Richard Niebuhr in The Kingdom of God in America wherein "a God without wrath brought men without sin into a Kingdom without judgment through the ministrations of a Christ without a Cross."

What is more commonly heard today than "Vatican II changed no doctrines"? No, it just changed the entire Church.
It's a complaint as old as the hills neatly summarized as "The Bishops don't do anything & the Priests don't do anything,"
Also the laity don't do anything for the most part either sans a minority of orthodox Catholics.
I advocate more lay action but I only advocate doing it as lay action.
I don't think orthodox lay people should try to become a substitute magisterium or Church Authority as that would be an evil schismatic act.
"The Bishops don't do anything & the Priests don't do anything" may be a neat summary, as you put it; but it presents a bit of a Straw Man or at least hyperbole. I don't think even most traditionalists would quite say that, let alone Michael Voris, whom some would not even call a traditionalist.
Lay action can help, as long as it isn't the kind of help provided by that Australian couple at the Synod; and nothing can help so much as clarity from the Papist-in-Chief, Franciscus, just as a good Prime Minister or General can help reinforce the spines and fortify the minds of underlings.
JFM, Well-put. The "conservatives" say the former; the "liberals" (as well as some "traditionalists") say the latter. Interesting.
