A cardinal, a priest with a stripper, and gay days at Lourdes: Catholic crisis exposed
Our underground correspondent in an Atlantic seaboard city that knows how to keep its secrets, Guy Noir - Private Eye, just sent us a link to a video (see below) reporting on three scandals symptomatic of deeper problems in the Church, which the commentator sees as presaging an intensifying persecution of Catholoics effectively sold out by their leaders:
(1) Cardinal law, after resigning amidst sex scandal cover-ups in his Archdiocese of Boston in 2002, received John Paul II's permission to resign before the mandatory age of 75 and get himself appointed to the plum position of Archpriest at St. Mary Major in Rome, a position from which he retired in 2011, and continues living in the Palazzo della Cancelleria, the Renaissance palace near St. Peter's.
(2) Fr. Jay Baker, Vicar General to Bishop Shelton Joseph Fabre of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux in Louisiana, recently appeared in a photo posted on Facebook alongside a stripper on the homepage of Trixie Minx, a scandal prompting a troubled letter from a Louisiana parishioner who can't get a hearing with her stonewalling bishop.
(3) Catholic officials at the Catholic shrine of Lourdes threw open its doors to gays for Valentine's Day this year [HERE]
Guy Noir writes:
Look... I for one don't think we are being "persecuted" in any sense worthy of the word. We *are* being marginalized.
And, unintentionally, being sold out by our leaders. Matt, for my tastes, can be strident. But who can argue with him here. And note -- he's not gay-bashing. This is good old heterosexual roaming. And meanwhile, a bishop cannot even meet with a plaintiff. No one in the private sector could now get away with such stonewalling. Maybe it is a good thing the "bastions," as von Balthasar called them, are being raized.
Dear Doc. The case of Bernard Cardinal Law has complications attached to it resulting from the modern Church's abandonment of classical Aristotelian Psychiatry and the adoption of modern Psychiatry based on the errors of the modern Shrinks- Reich, Freud, Jung etc.
The One True Holy Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church - especially in America - feared being thought beholden to the Dark Ages (Tradition) and so it began to abandon Tradition (think Notre Dame, Fr Hesburgh, and the Land o Lakes declaration) and it decided to make peace with the enlightenment and it began to abandon Tradition in its treatment of queer clergy.
And poor Bernard Cardinal Law was another victim of modernity because he was learnt to accept the judgment of shrinks (who were enlightenment professionals disposed to undermine the Dark Ages Church) that led to so many sex crimes committed against innocent adolescent males by queer clergy.
Of course, it does not entirely (or even substantially) absolve the Cardinal of what he did but it does add some necessary nuance it seems to ABS.
Remember the Paraclete of Angels (think that was the name) in New Mexico that was, initially a retreat house for drunks?
Well, the poor priest running it suddenly found himself confronted by queer clergy sent to him for treatment and, being a traditional priest, he realised one can't treat queer clergy and so he petitioned his Bishop and the then Pope to purchase an island where the queer clergy could be sent to do penance for the rest of their lives.
Well, of course, his request was denied because science.
Ecumenism, Expertise, Science, Enlightenment, Masonry, Rabbinical Judaism, Protestantism, etc etc; there are so many enemies of the One True Holy Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church but it recognises not one of them as enemies; its only enemy is Tradition.
Thanks for the link, ABS. I remember seeing this some weeks ago, but I didn't pay sufficient attention to it. It may still no absolve of culpability altogether, seeing that conceding this much authority to secular psychological/psychiatric authorities itself is highly problematic; yet it helps understand what went wrong, which isn't a simple thing.
What got into the Church (modernism) that made it abandon Tradition and supplant it with a science that, long ago, had successfully sued for divorce from sacred Theology and has since that day fornicated with the enlightenment and produced uncountable numbers of bastid chidden whom we, the laity, are expected to adopt and support?
It is maddening how we have abandoned Tradition for within it is contained the very necessary steps we must take to deal with serious sin - and what was more serious that queer clergy and their sexual crimes against innocent adolescent males?
The good Father of the Paraclete Center knew these men were incurable - when has Tradition not known that? - but his ecclesiastical expertise was repudiated in favor of science or face-saving.
Lord have mercy
We have Saint Peter Damian yet we prefer the expertise of those who are Messias-Deniers and atheists.
Doctor Judith Reisman, a good Jewish lady, has done copious amounts of work on the subject of these "experts". I believe she had considerable sympathy for the quandary of the Bishops, relying as they were on fallacious pseudo-science. But, ABS is right, the Bishops would not have been so deceived if they followed Tradition.
The satanic media and their political allies gleefully exploited the scandal by isolating the Catholic Church as if it was the only institution where child sexual abuse occurred despite the obamination being commonplace anywhere men have authority over and access to children. The insidious message was that the Church is somehow uniquely perverted. Additionally, excessive emphasis was placed on cases involving young girls in order to shield the homosexuals. The result is that "priest" has become a byword of child-abuse while the real common denominator of the abuse, the homosexuals, have escaped scot-free and now have gained "parental" access for themselves.
Dear Mr. Leahy. Amen, especially her exposing of the entomologist, Kinky Kinsey, a sadistic sodomite who criminally and sexually abused very young children (some whom had not yet learned to talk); he used to masturbate them and record their start to finish time.
He should have been hanged from an electric chair inside a gas chamber ,but instead, he was a darling of the enlightenment, science, and universities who, to this day, continue to teach his sulfurous science
