"EWTN video on SSPX-related Dominican Sisters of Fanjeaux and their Students: 'Their hearts are in Rome'"

Via RC, 3-4-2015:

It should be noted that the canonical status of the SSPX, with which these sisters are affiliated, is irregular, even if there is apparently some divided opinion about this. On the one hand are those who simply refer to the SSPX as "schismatic," like Fr. Paul Nicholson, who describes attendance at their Masses as worse than attending a Satanic Mass. On the other hand are those who emphatically deny that the SSPX is "schismatic," like Cardinal Darío Castrillón Hoyos and Msgr. Camille Perl, former President and Secretary, respectively, of the Pontifical Commission, Ecclesia Dei. I think a safe term to use is "irregular." It is also clear that while some continue to regard the Society with abhorrence as something on the order of an ecclesiastical leper colony, others like Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI, have consistently recognized it as a devout but irregular body within the Church and worked tirelessly for the regularization of its canonical status (Msgr. Juan Ignacio Arrieta in this video is also a good example). They deserve our prayer, not our opprobrium. Given the trajectory of our times, I am continually amazed at whom Catholics sometimes choose to identify as the greatest threat to the future of the Church.

I agree 100% When the churches emptied out after Vatican II they held the orthodox fibre of the Mass together

    Amen to that.

I am not a SSPX follower , never been to their masses, and probably won't go. But to be so hostile against them is contrary to reason and charity. They are more victims of injustices than anything else. Charity and Truth will make them come back to full visible unity one day.
