Evangelicals and Catholics apart: like ships passing in the night

Let's be honest: there are some genuine issues that divide Catholic and evangelical Protestants. These issues, however, are often not those that are trotted out by each side. Thus suggests this piece by Alan Jacobs, "Evangelicals and Catholics Apart" (More Than 95 Theses: Oddments, April 10, 2014). As Guy Noir says, "Evangelicals historically and even now stereotype Catholics in wrong ways. Conservative Catholics, often, stereotype Protestants and 'Protestantism' in some absurd ways, blaming Luther for everything from denominationalism to lousy laundry detergent."
